About Psycology Department

Department of Psychology was established in 1940, one of the oldest department in D.B.F. Dayanand College of Arts and Science and offers graduate course. Prof. Devraj Gupta, Prof. A.S. Deshpande, Prof. S.S. Katkar, Prof. U.G. Bawane were former head of the department. Presently Dr. S.D. Patankar is working as a H.O.D. Skill development course ‘Guidance and Counselling’ is run by department. Various extra-curricular activities such as Library induction program, bridge course, Wall posters, guest lectures, workshop on Stress management, campus cleaning, and tours are arranged. Students’ counseling center is run by department of Psychology. Dr. M.G. Chaphalkar has been appointed as a counsellor. Free counselling is offered to students for resolving their emotional, psychological problems. The new apps like ‘Google class room’ and ‘outlook’ are used for instructing students. Mentoring is done to students as well as remedial coaching is provided to slow learners as well as advance learners. Academic results of department are satisfactory.

Research Facilities

The Botany department is a recognized research centre by Solapur University, Solapur. Co-ordinator of P.G. Department of Botany, Dr. M.N. Jagtap was recognized research guide.
The research laboratory has enough infrastructures to cultivate culture of blue green algae and identification of cultures. These laboratory facilities are also utilized by post graduate students to execute their projects. The sophisticated equipments available in the Research Laboratory are:
