About ECS Department
The department of Computer Science of D.B.F. Dayanand College of Arts and Science, Solapur was established in June 2001 and was affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur, further in 2004 it has been affiliated to Solapur University, Solapur with course name B.Sc. (ECS). The department runs under graduate program in Computer Science. All faculty members publish the research work in reputed National and International journals. The department organizes different National / State / University level workshops and seminars. The department always tries to develop overall personality of students by conducting various student-centric activities frequently.
The department also conducts one College Offered Certificate Course for skill devolvement of the students.

Program Outcome [Entire Computer Science]
- Student will get ability to identify, critically analyze, formulate and develop computer application
- Student will be able to select modern computing tool and techniques and use them with dexterity
- Student will get skill to analyze a problem and identify and define the logical modeling of solution
- Students will be able to use the techniques, skills and modern hardware and software tools necessary for innovative software solutions. Student get ability to devise and conduct experiments, interpret data and provide well informed conclusions

LABORATORY
The Lab is dedicated for Database related practical. High configuration computer systems installed with software’s like Oracle Server, MySQL are used by the students to execute their Database related projects and assignments.
The Lab is dedicated for Web related practical. High configuration computer systems installed with software’s like Visual Studio 10 are used by the students to execute their Web as well as application related projects and assignments.
Departmental Computer Labs consist of Licensed Software under Microsoft campus agreement. The lab is installed with all important editors like Turbo and Borland C/C++ provides a dual operating system environment where the students can learn to execute C and C++ programs in all types of environments.
The students receive hands on practical experience in the field of System Administration, System Engineering, Hacking and Security. Red Hat Linux Administration is the key practice in this lab.
The lab is dedicated for the students to develop their Minor and Major projects. All project related software is installed in this lab to fulfill the requirements of development.

Research Facilities
The Botany department is a recognized research centre by Solapur University, Solapur. Co-ordinator of P.G. Department of Botany, Dr. M.N. Jagtap was recognized research guide.
The research laboratory has enough infrastructures to cultivate culture of blue green algae and identification of cultures. These laboratory facilities are also utilized by post graduate students to execute their projects. The sophisticated equipments available in the Research Laboratory are:
