Dayanand Talent Search Competition Examination

Dayanand Talent Search Competition Examination has been started in 2017. This examination is conducted once in a year to create awareness about various competitive exams and to tap the talented students for proper further guidance and support in this regard. This examination is open for students from all colleges from University territory. The exam is modeled on the exact basis of MPSC preliminary examination. The question paper sets are coded as A/B/C/D to prevent malpractices during the Examination. The answer sheets are in the form of OMR sheets. The students can carry away the question paper. The answer key is published on the website after two – three days of the exam and doubts and queries are invited and settled down within stipulated time. Then the result is declared. The students who stand in the merit are awarded with book – prizes worth Rs. 5000, 3000, 2000 and 1000 (two) to the first, second, third and consolation (two) prizes respectively.

Dayanand Science Olympiad

Dayanand Science Olympiad has been conducted in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Life Sciences from year 2017. This exam is conducted every year to inculcate interest in science subject and develop very keen competence over the subjects to face exams like IIT, JAM, IISER, MSC, NET, SET, TIFR, IISC and GATE examination. This examination is also open for students from other colleges in the University territory. The questions are multiple choice based questions and aim to check the thorough knowledge of the student. The question paper sets are coded as A/B/C/D to prevent malpractices during the Examination. The answer sheets are in the form of OMR sheets. The students can carry away the question paper. The answer key is published on the website after two – three days of the exam and doubts and queries are invited and settled down within stipulated time. The students of merit are awarded with book prizes from the subject wise Olympiad separately.

Mahatma Hansraj Quiz Competition

Mahatma Hansraj Quiz Competition is being conducted since 2015 in the college every year for students admitted to UG and PG courses. This competition is divided into two parts; first part deals with written test of 100 marks and second part is of live five rounds of question – answer session. The students who hold the merit are divided into five teams after the written test and these five teams have to face general round, buzzer round, rapid fire round, pass round and audio-visual round namely. The participants in this round are awarded with cash prizes as per their rank along with certificate of participation.

Pandit Gurudatta Vidyarthi Science Quiz

Pandit Gurudatta Vidyarthi Science Quiz has been started since 2017 in the college. This competition is specially meant for students from Science stream. The under graduate and post graduate students from all Science departments can participate in this competition. The first round is a written test of 100 marks. The students who stand in merit are selected to the second round and they are categorized into teams based on their merits. The second round comprises general round, pass round, buzzer round and audio – visual round. The students among the five teams are awarded with cash prizes according to their ranks in the second round and also offered certificates of participation every year.

Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati State Level Elocution Competition

Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati State Level Elocution Competition has been started in the college form 2017. This competition is conducted in English, Marathi and Hindi languages. The topics of contemporary importance, social and moral relevance and other issues of special importance are declared in advance and the brochures are circulated throughout the colleges in the Maharashtra. The students are divided among the groups and three from each group are selected for spontaneous round. The first prize is Rs. 10,000; second prize is Rs. 7,000; third Prize is Rs 5,000 and two consolation prizes of Rs 1000 each. These prizes are sponsored by ‘Lahoti Charitable Trust’. The participants are given certificates.

C.S. Dara English Essay Writing Competition

C.S. Dara English Essay Writing Competition is being conducted by the Department of English since 2017 in the college for the admitted students. The students from under graduate and post graduate classes can appear for this competition. The topics for Essay writing are declared in advance and students are asked to submit their essays for evaluation. An expert from outside is appointed for impartial evaluation. The students are awarded with cash prizes of Rs 500, 300, 200 and 100 respectively for first, second, third and consolation ranks.

Mahatma Anand Swami English Spelling Competition

Mahatma Anand Swami English Spelling Competition has been started by the Department of English from 2017 for the under graduate and post graduate students of the college. The interested students are invited to appear for this competition on a specific date, time and venue. The appeared students are asked to write spellings for the pronounced words by the teacher during the exam time. There are also some tricky questions and confusing questions in written form that the students need to solve. The answer sheets are evaluated by an external expert and the students who stand in the rank are awarded with cash prizes of Rs. 500, Rs. 300 and Rs 200 for first, second and third rank respectively.

Miss Dayanand Competition and Yuvati Mahotsav

‘Miss Dayanand Competition and Yuvati Mahotsav – 2017’ has been organized in the college on 24th and 25th December 2017. Total 168 women students participated in the Yuvati Mahotsav and performed art forms like Group Dance, Bharud, Solo Act, Group Songs, Duet Dance, Solo Singing, Skit, Speech, Solo Dance, Tabala and etc. In ‘Miss Dayanand Competition 2017’ total 68 contestants participated and they represented a number of traditional as well as modern cultural patterns and fashions. Then their mental ability has been verified through a written test. During this competition, along with the cultural / physical appearance, the presence of mind and approach to the real life situation have been evaluated by asking them a few questions. In this competition Miss. Swedha Shrichippa (BCS – III) secured first position; Miss. Priyanka Rokade (BA – III) secured second position and Miss. Pranita Kulkarni (BSc – I) secured third position. All the participants have been honored with a certificate of participation.

Outcomes of the Program

  • The girl students are encouraged to appear on the stage with boldness.
  • Their hidden talent got expression through different arts performed by them during the program.
  • The girl students celebrated their being woman through various games and performances held during the program.
  • The gap between woman teachers and girl students got reduced due to this entertaining program where both together performed on the same stage.
  • The girls participated in the Miss Dayanand Competition competently expressed their talent and skills during the competition which helped them in their personality development.
