Department of Electronics

About Electronics Department

The Department of Electronics is established in 1985 with a special ambition to pursue high level teaching methodologies to deliver fundamentals of Electronics in a better way.
The faculty members are well qualified, experienced and recognized as Research Guides by Solapur University. The department always tries to develop overall personality of students by conducting various student-centric activities such as Seminars, Guest Lectures, Visits, Workshops, etc. The department also conducts two Certificate Courses for skill devolvement of the students.
The department is actively engaged in research activities. The department has completed two Major Research Projects and five Minor Research Projects funded by SERB-DST and UGC. The total grant received by the department is Rs. 37,82,344/-. All faculty members publish the research work in reputed National and International journals. Till today, one hundred and two research papers are published in national and international journals. Thirteen books are published by the faculty members. Three students have awarded Ph.D. degree and nine students are working for Ph.D. in the thirst areas. The department has organized one National Conference, two National Seminars and four National/State Workshops. The department has active MoU’s and linkages with many reputed Institutes.

Program Outcome [B.Sc. Electronics]

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electronics is the course disseminating knowledge of the subject from fundamental concepts to State-of- technologies. Indeed, the curriculum encompasses knowledge of various themes such as Microcontroller and Embedded System, Instrumentation, Communication Electronics, Power Electronics, Medical Electronics, Virtual instrumentation etc.

  • The students exposed to the recent technologies.
  • The students can design and implement the instrumentation of significant preciseness.
  • The students are ready to perform the projects of industrial standards, which could also, ensures the interdisciplinary approach.
  • Specific practical skills is developed among the students.
  • The skills for accepting challenges of upcoming technological advancements is inculcated.
  • Upon completion of this course students will acquire in-depth understanding of Communication Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Microcontrollers, Assembly Language Programming, and Interfacing.
  • The students can be employed in the field of power sector, defence services, TV and music industry, automation, IT, optical communication.

LABORATORY

Electronics Department has one spacious and well equipped laboratory and one research laboratory. The under graduate laboratory has all necessary instruments including CROs, Function generators, Power supplies, Microprocessor kits, Microcontroller kits, VHDL kits, etc. The research laboratory has few sophisticated equipments like Spin Coating Unit, Magnetic Stirrer, AC Susceptometer, Electrochemical Analyzer, Gas Sensor Characterization setup, Hall Effect Set Up, etc.
